Effect of pH on dyeing of Reactive dyes

For Reactive dyeing, the pH value of the product is 7 to 9 and the color difference of the product is normal, which means that the pH value range has little effect on the product color difference, and the presence of a small amount of alkali does not change or destroy the chromogenic group of the reactive dye molecule.

When the pH value is 8.5, the color fastness to washing and the wet rubbing fastness of the fabric are three grades, which cannot meet the requirements of the customers; when the pH value further increases, the color fastness becomes worse, and it can be known that the alkalinity in water increases. Affects the color fastness of dyed products.

The influent water quality of the wastewater reuse plant generally requires a pH value of <9 to ensure that the microbial growth of the treatment system is not affected by alkalinity and that it can operate normally, while the reuse water quality standard requires the pH to fall to 85, preferably to approximately 7.
